Our
Lightning Bond Glue is such a versatile adhesive that we are still finding
new uses for it all the time after customers tell us things it has bonded.
Starting from the upper left of our show display board, you have an
1. O ring [looped] bonded to a metal washer. Or Neoprene to Steel.
Not an easy task for most Cyanoacrylates.
2. The Oak wood block has a drawer pull handle glued to it.
The wood lettered block name Mike is bonded to the white oak block, steel
nut to wood, a Wooden drawer pull bonded to Formica and the Formica swatch
bonded to wood and the black object is rubber and is bonded the wooden
block with a soft PVC material bonded to it.
3. The wood airplane has a piece of pliable black Rubber vertical
stabilizer (tail) bonded to white pine.
4. The porpoise (sentra plastic) balancing an oval mirror on his
nose is all bonded to the synthetic plastic coating on the pressed wood
trophy board. The trophy boards with this plastic coating are not an easy
material to keep different substrates porous or non porous bonded to it.
5.
The blue porcelain base molding has a rubber drive belt piece bonded to it
with dime coin bonded to the rubber. When you are bonding ceramic to
itself or china to itself, it's a match made in heaven for the homeowner
or handy man.
6. The red plastic sentra material is bonded to trophy board.
On it there is a rubber drive belt piece and a copper penny.
7. The Plate Glass strip is difficult to see but has an O ring
bonded to it, rubber belt piece and a copper penny bonded to the rubber
once again. Steel is bondable to glass and is representative of a
rear view mirror repair but not shown here.
8. The black ABS plastic plumbing pipe is bonded to the trophy
board. That white texture you see is the Lightning Bond Filler that
was used to fill in the hole drilled which represents a plumbing large
crack or a repair of a plumbing pipe. No PVC is shown on this board
but, it is just as bondable with Lightning Bond glue as is the ABS pipe.
9. The brass corner iron on lower right really shows the versatility
of Lightning Bond. Brass to plastic is achievable in minutes.
Just a note, preparation of your substrates you are bonding is vital to
the adhesion process. Clean surfaces with light grit sandpaper, acetone,
alcohol, nail polish remover, [[without
any aloes or fragrances]]
in them because Lightning Bond glue requires a NON petroleum cleaner or it
may not adhere at all and depart later because of the petroleum cleaner
used. Like wise with your perspiration and body oils. Washing
oil and soiled hands too before using Lightning Bond glue
will
give you the best adhesion with the components you are glueing. To
